Hi! My name is F. H. Rowell. (full name Fionnuala Hanahoe Rowell)
I am a visual artist form Dublin, Ireland.
I have a first class hons. Ba degree in Fine Art from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland (2009)
My practice is rooted in observation—taking the overlooked rhythms of daily life and the natural world, and reimagining them as immersive, contemplative artworks.
I am drawn to the way small, ordinary processes and natural cycles mirror the act of creativity itself. Themes of transformation and transience run through my work: the shift from one state to another, the fleeting moment of change, and the resonance left behind. Through digital tools and painting, I expand these gestures into sculptural, time-based, and spatial forms that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and see the world anew through the lens of an artwork.
Although my focus today is digital and painted works, my broader practice has always been multidisciplinary. Earlier explorations in sculpture and installation remain part of my artistic language, informing the sensibility and materiality of my current work. I see my practice as a continuous body of work—one that evolves across media, but consistently seeks to create spaces for contemplation and connection.
